Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw overcome injuries to start for Manchester United in Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw have overcome injuries to start for Manchester United in Sunday's Premier League clash with Liverpool at Anfield.

Shaw was absent against West Ham United in the FA Cup on Wednesday evening due to a minor injury.

Meanwhile, there had been fears that Varane would be absent for the trip to Merseyside due to a leg complaint.

However, both players have proved their fitness to be named in the starting side for Sunday's Premier League clash, while there are also starts for Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez at the back.

Dalot is preferred to Aaron Wan-Bissaka despite the latter's impressive from since the turn of the year.

Further forward, Casemiro, Fred and Bruno Fernandes start in central midfield, with the latter again wearing the captain's armband in the absence of Harry Maguire, who is on the bench.

Fred is preferred to Scott McTominay and Marcel Sabitzer, who are also among the substitutes at Anfield.

Marcus Rashford will seemingly start off the left, with Antony on the right and Wout Weghorst through the middle, although the latter has also played as a number 10 in recent matches.

In total, there are six changes from the side that took to the field against West Ham in the FA Cup.

One of those to drop out is Alejandro Garnacho, with the teenager slightly unfortunate to miss out on a spot in the XI following his strike against the Hammers.

It is the same side that started the EFL Cup final against Newcastle United last weekend, while there is a return to the squad for Jadon Sancho, who was not involved against West Ham due to illness.
