Leeds United confirm that Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will be in charge for Wednesday's Premier League trip to Manchester United following the dismissal of Jesse Marsch.

Leeds United have confirmed that Michael Skubala, Paco Gallardo and Chris Armas will be in charge for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford following the dismissal of Jesse Marsch.

The Whites announced on Monday afternoon that they had decided to part company with head coach Marsch following a run of seven Premier League games without a win.

The 49-year-old's dismissal came less than 24 hours after Leeds suffered their 10th Premier League defeat of the season at the hands of Nottingham Forest, losing 1-0 at the City Ground.

Leeds are yet to win in 2023 and have slipped to 17th in the Premier League table, sitting just above the relegation zone on goal difference albeit with a game in hand.

The West Yorkshire side have also revealed that Rene Maric, Cameron Toshack and Pierre Barrieu have left the club along with Marsch, but there was initially no confirmation as to who would be placed in temporary charge while they look for a successor.

However, Leeds have now revealed that coaching trio Skubala, Gallardo and Armas will take training at Thorp Arch on Tuesday before leading the first team out at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

Skubala was appointed the head coach of Leeds' Under-21s side last summer after holding numerous roles at the FA.

The 40-year-old was the head coach of the England national Futsal team before taking charge of the England Under-18 side.

Gallardo, meanwhile, became a development coach at Leeds towards the end of last year following a spell as an assistant coach at La Liga side Sevilla.

As for Armas, he joined Leeds' backroom staff in January following spells as a coach at New York Red Bulls, Toronto FC and Man United, working with the latter under interim boss Ralf Rangnick during the second half of last season.

Leeds have also confirmed that Skubala will take on the club's media duties, starting with a pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

The Whites have already begun the process of appointing a new head coach, with West Bromwich Albion boss Carlos Corberan – a former coach at Elland Road under Marcelo Bielsa – the current frontrunner with the bookmakers to succeed Marsch.
