Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that he admires local rivals Manchester City as the two sides gear up for a title run-in.
Ferguson hit back at Patrick Vieira's claims that United re-signed Paul Scholes out of desperation earlier this week, but praised Roberto Mancini's men for the season they have had so far.
"Experience is important, no matter who you are. If you've been there before, it helps," he said.
"It's not absolutely conclusive that it will apply this season because you've got to admire City.
"They've done exceptionally well and been top of the league for a long time. They've got us to go to the Etihad and they've not lost a game there."
United currently sit level on points with City, but the Reds have a game in hand.
