David Platt claims that mind games don't make a difference in the race for the title.

Manchester City coach David Platt has said that mind games make no difference in the race for the Premier League title.

Manager Roberto Mancini, whose side dropped another two points at the Brittania Stadium this weekend, refused to meet with the media after the game in order to avoid speaking out of turn.

"It's not about words," Platt said after the game. "Words won't win the league.

"If we have more points than them at the end of the season people will perceive [Mancini's] won the war of words. It's inconsequential.

"One performance doesn't win [or lose] a league. You won't know until the end of the season."

Manchester City currently lead the league on goal difference. Manchester United play on Monday.
