Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini wants John Guidetti to return to the Etihad Stadium after the Swedish striker shone during his loan spell at Feyenoord.
The 19-year-old came through the youth ranks at City and, having only made one appearance for the club, spent time on loan at IF Brommapojkarna and Burnley before joining the Eredivisie giants on a season-long deal in August.
Guidetti has been in impressive goalscoring form this season, netting 18 times in 19 appearances in Holland.
City have being closely tracking the player's progress and Patrick Vieira, the club's development executive, watched him play Ajax last month, where he scored one of three hat tricks this campaign.
Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel told The Mirror: "They were so impressed with John. They were full of praise and had talks with him.
"We'd love to keep him but City want him back.''
Guidetti made his Sweden debut last month and could face England at Euro 2012 in the Group D clash in Kiev on June 15.
