Michael Carrick has paid tribute to his Manchester United teammate Paul Scholes following the Red Devils' 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers earlier today.
Both players scored against Wanderers, with the latter marking his first start since coming out of retirement in clinical fashion.
"It was fitting that he scored on his first start back," Carrick told BBC Sport. "It was great to have him back because he's such a great player.
"He fitted right in and although he was blowing a bit after an hour it was great to have him in the side."
Carrick's goal was his second of the season.
