Manchester United striker Angelo Henriquez has been called up to the Chile senior squad for the first time.
Head coach Claudio Borghi has decided to select the 18-year-old after learning that Mauricio Pinilla had been ruled out with a muscular injury.
"Unfortunately, we have important players injured," Henriquez told Radio ADN. "That has worked in my favour and I hope to play. Otherwise, I will continue to work the same way to have another call-up. It's not what I expected. I was ready to play with the Under-20s.
"I have been working very hard and intensively in England. Mentally, it is a huge motivation to come and play for the Chilean national team."
Henriquez has yet to feature for the United first team.
