Cagliari recorded a 2-0 win over Atalanta in their Serie A match at Stadio Sant'Elia this afternoon.
The hosts made a good start to the match, hitting the post through Mauricio Pinilla after just eight minutes.
They were ahead just two minutes later, however, when skipper Daniele Conti fired in a precise free-kick.
The home side doubled their lead ten minutes into the second half after some nice link up play lead to a chance for Pinilla in front of goal, and the Chilean made no mistake, securing the three points for his side.
The result moves Cagliari further away from the relegation zone, level on points but one place behind today's opponents Atalanta.
