Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri has tested positive for COVID-19 and will therefore play no part against Watford in the FA Cup this weekend.

Facundo Pellistri has been denied the chance of making his Manchester United debut this weekend after testing positive for coronavirus.

The 19-year-old joined United in an £8m move from Penarol in the summer transfer window and has featured six times for the Under-23s since then.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is believed to have promoted Pellistri to his first-team squad and the youngster was tipped to feature against Watford in the FA Cup third round.

However, he has returned a positive COVID-19 test and will now self-isolate for 10 days, ruling him out of Saturday's match at Old Trafford.

United head into the game on the back of a 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup earlier this week.

The likes of Juan Mata, Donny van de Beek and Dean Henderson are all in line to start against Watford.
