Facundo Pellistri is one of five Manchester United youngsters who have been promoted to the first-team squad ahead of Tuesday's game with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly promoted five academy players to his first-team squad ahead of Tuesday's fixture with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

United will head into second position in the Premier League standings if they can get the better of Nuno Espirito Santo's side at Old Trafford.

While Solskjaer is expected to make few changes to his starting lineup, the Manchester Evening News says that the Norwegian has taken the opportunity to assess the progress of some of the club's younger players.

The report claims that Facundo Pellistri, Ethan Laird, Anthony Elanga, Will Fish and Shola Shoretire all trained with the senior group on Sunday.

United face fixtures with Aston Villa, Manchester City and Watford in three different competitions during the first nine days of 2021.

Summer arrival Pellistri and 19-year-old defender Laird are most likely to feature among the replacements for at least one of those games.
