Yaya Toure: Carlos Tevez wants to say sorry

Yaya Toure insists that Carlos Tevez wants to say sorry to the Manchester City fans following his six-month absence.

Yaya Toure has insisted that Carlos Tevez wants to rebuild his relationship with the Manchester City fans by helping the club win the Premier League title.

The Argentine recently returned to first-team action after six months following his bust-up with manager Roberto Mancini.

Despite the negative press surrounding the striker, Toure believes that he still has a vital role to play in the side.

"Everyone can make mistakes but Carlos is a really good man," he told the Manchester Evening News. "When you meet him, he is always good fun and a nice guy, even if people may have a different image of him.

"He knew when he came back to the club he had made a very big mistake, but now everything is over and he is focused on winning the Premier League.

"He wants to do as much as possible to say sorry to the fans. I am sure he will be fantastic for the rest of the season."

City can move temporarily back to the top of the Premier League table on Saturday when they host Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium.
