David Platt has said that Roberto Mancini has got what it takes to lead Manchester City to the Premier League title this season.
The assistant coach said that the Italian has the right mentality to overcome City's recent run of three defeats from four games.
"Roberto's mentality is to win. He has the desire and full belief that we will win every match," Platt said.
"He knows what it takes to go the distance and he's quite relaxed at this moment in time. He'd be more worried if we were playing badly but I don't think we are."
Platt compared City's recent struggles to those of Arsenal when he was there in the 2007-08 season.
"At Arsenal, I think we lost three of four games just short of Christmas and were in a crisis," he said.
"Then we went and won 10 or 11 games on the bounce to win it.
"At the moment we have our noses in front. We have to make sure we stay there."
League leaders Manchester City travel to face bottom-placed Wigan tonight.
