Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has praised his squad after they clinched the Premier League title with a 2-0 win at home to West Ham United this afternoon.
Goals from Samir Nasri and Vincent Kompany ensured that the Citizens sealed their second league title in the space of three years, despite Liverpool also winning their game against Newcastle United at Anfield.
Pellegrini told reporters after the game: "I think that I manage a great group of players, a great institution and great fans. When you achieve the title, I think the whole year comes from in to out and shows a lot of work we did at difficult moments in the year and I think this is the best team in the league.
"It was a very special season for us, we didn't start very well but I think the most important thing we did this year is when we finished playing our sixth game away, we had one point from 18 and I told the players we had to make a change.
"They believed in me and I think from then until now we are the team with the most points away. They always believed what I told them about how I wanted to play and how I think football should be."
Manchester City also won the League Cup earlier in the season.
