Preview: Malmo vs. Olympiacos

Sports Mole looks ahead to Wednesday evening's Champions League encounter between Malmo and Olympiacos.

For Malmo, who were European Cup finalists in 1979, Wednesday evening's clash with Olympiacos will be their first ever proper Champions League home encounter.

Age Hareide's men were defeated 2-0 by Juventus on matchday one, but they do have a positive recent European record at the Swedbank Stadion. During their three qualifiers in the summer, they didn't concede a goal, while no European visitors have beaten the hosting Swedes in seven attempts.

In terms of team selection, former West Bromwich Albion striker Markus Rosenberg is expected to start up front, while Ghanaian midfielder Enoch Kofi Adu should also feature.

As for the visiting Greeks, they head into the encounter riding the crest of a wave following their 3-2 win over Spanish champions Atletico Madrid last time out.

Ibrahim Afellay, who is on loan from Barcelona, and Fulham flop Konstantinos Mitroglou scored in the victory over Atletico and both should start in Sweden, with David Fuster also pushing for inclusion.

Olympiacos have only previously faced Swedish opposition on one occasion, which ended in a 2-1 aggregate European Cup triumph over Osters IF in 1982.
