Liverpool could reportedly bring forward their plans to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
The Reds have struggled in their opening three games, picking up two points before losing 2-1 to Manchester United on Monday.
Jurgen Klopp's preparations for Liverpool's Premier League encounters have not been helped by the fact that they are struggling for numbers in midfield with the likes of Naby Keita, Thiago Alcantara and Curtis Jones injured.
Liverpool are believed to be looking to sign another midfielder, and they have been rumours linking Bellingham with a move to Anfield.
According to The Express, Liverpool could make an effort to sign Bellingham earlier than previously planned.
The Reds were expected to attempt to move for the Englishman next summer, but with Dortmund interested in Keita, they could look to agree a transfer in January.
Dortmund are admirers of Keita, and Liverpool are hopeful that they could agree a part-exchange deal with the Bundesliga club.
However, Dortmund are not keen to offload Bellingham, who has started all four of the club's competitive games this season and has three years remaining on his contract.
