Tottenham Hotspur are said to be tracking the progress of Joe Allen's potential move from Swansea City to Liverpool.
Allen has been heavily linked with a move to Anfield this summer, but the Reds have yet to meet Swansea's valuation for the 22-year-old Wales international.
The player's contract, which expires in June 2015, contains a minimum fee release clause of £15m that applies solely to Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea.
According to The Mirror, Spurs have become interested in Allen after discovering that his contract has a second clause in it which states that the Swans must accept offers of £12m and above from any team outside of England's 'big five'.
It is believed that Andre Villas-Boas will step up his interest in Allen if he fails to land reported top transfer target Moussa Dembele.
