Tottenham Hotspur consider Joe Allen bid

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Swansea City playmaker Joe Allen, according to reports.

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a bid for Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen, according to reports.

The Daily Star understands that Spurs may try to sign Allen from under the noses of Liverpool.

Swansea are believed to prefer Tottenham as a destination for Allen if he is to leave, after Liverpool broke an agreement stating that Brendan Rodgers would not sign his former players for 12 months.

With Luka Modric still seemingly intent on securing a move away from North London, Allen is understood to be on a list of targets new manager Andre Villas-Boas would like to bring to White Hart Lane.

Allen is currently representing Great Britain in the men's football tournament at the Olympic Games.
