Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has suggested that the Reds' capture of Roberto Firmino is a "real statement of intent".
The Anfield side signed the Brazil international for around £29m from Hoffenheim on Wednesday, and Hamann, who won the Champions League with the club in 2005, thinks that the capture will help propel Brendan Rodgers's side back towards the top four of the Premier League.
The German tweeted: "Firmino a very good signing for LFC, a real statement of intent. Very skilful player and mentally well suited to the Premier League".

Firmino is Liverpool's fifth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Danny Ings, James Milner, Joe Gomez and Adam Bogdan.
