Hull City triumphant against Stuttgart

Hull City score twice early on to secure a 2-1 victory over Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in their final pre-season fixture.

Hull City have defeated Stuttgart 2-1 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena to round off their pre-season fixtures with a win.

The Tigers got off to a dream start when David Meyler found the target just five minutes in to give his side an early lead against Armin Veh's men.

That lead was soon doubled, with Andrew Robertson pushing the ball over the line after he latched onto Sven Ulreich's parried save.

Bosnia international Vedad Ibisevic handed the hosts a lifeline shortly before the interval when he fired home to ensure that it was very much game on.

Stuttgart pushed on in search of an equalising goal in the second half, but they fell short with Hull holding out for the victory.

Steve Bruce's side now turn their attention to next weekend's Premier League opener against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
