Les Bleus are searching for a new manager after Laurent Blanc resigned at the end of last month.
With Zidane recently claiming that he would like to go into coaching, the French Football Federation are thought to be considering the 40-year-old for the vacancy, according to L'Equipe.
Didier Deschamps is currently the favourite to land the job after he parted company with Marseille earlier this week.
