France boss Didier Deschamps could hand a full senior international debut to Warren Zaire-Emery in Saturday's Euro 2024 qualifying battle with Gibraltar in Group B.
Les Bleus are already guaranteed to qualify for next year's competition as group winners, although they will be after maximum points to ensure a place in Pot 1 of the group-stage draw.
Deschamps has already been hit with two midfield blows, as Real Madrid duo Aurelien Tchouameni (foot) and Eduardo Camavinga (knee) - the latter of whom injured himself in training this week - are unavailable for November's matches.
As a result, 17-year-old Zaire-Emery - who only debuted for the Under-21s in September - is a candidate to start in the Bleus engine room, especially with Deschamps likely to tinker with his team against a pointless and goalless Gibraltar before next week's trip to Greece.
Brice Samba could therefore make only his second appearance in goal, having won his first cap in June's 3-0 beating of Los Llanis, while Arsenal's William Saliba is a candidate to start in defence.
Brothers Lucas Hernandez and Theo Hernandez could also link arms with Saliba and Jonathan Clauss - the only recognised right-back in the Bleus squad - while Jean-Clair Todibo is also eyeing a second cap after replacing the stricken Ibrahima Konate.
Adrien Rabiot might be selected as Zaire-Emery's midfield partner, although Khephren Thuram, Youssouf Fofana and Boubacar Kamara are also present, while Antoine Griezmann's spot in the number 10 role appears to be safe.
Ousmane Dembele was involved in the training incident which left Camavinga with a sprained knee, but the Paris Saint-Germain attacker will seemingly be fine to join Kylian Mbappe and Griezmann in the supporting cast.
Deschamps is facing the best kind of selection dilemma up front between Olivier Giroud, Randal Kolo Muani and Marcus Thuram, the latter of whom has 12 goal contributions from as many Serie A games for Inter Milan this term - four of his own and eight assists - so he has made his case to start over Giroud if the AC Milan veteran is spared.
France possible starting lineup: Samba; Clauss, Saliba, L. Hernandez, T. Hernandez; Zaire-Emery, Rabiot; Dembele, Griezmann, Mbappe; Thuram
