Gary Cahill believes that John Terry is one of the best defenders in world football.
The pair formed England's centre-back partnership during their 3-0 victory over Bulgaria in Sofia last night.
After the match, Bolton Wanderers defender Cahill claimed that he had learnt a lot from playing alongside the Three Lions captain.
"It was nice for me to play with [captain John Terry], who is one of the best centre-backs in world football. I'll learn a lot from that and I am just grateful for the opportunity to come out with the senior lads," the 24-year-old told reporters.
The match also saw Cahill open his goalscoring account in an England shirt, although the former Aston Villa man revealed that he thought his strike had been disallowed.
"To be honest, I thought I was offside, I heard a whistle in the crowd because otherwise I would have shown a lot more excitement. But it was a fantastic feeling when I realised the linesman's flag was down," he explained.
England take on Wales at Wembley Stadium next Tuesday in their penultimate Euro 2012 qualifying match.
