Sporting Kansas City have reportedly declared an interest in signing Chelsea winger Marko Marin.
The German joined the West Londoners in 2012, but he has not played for them in over two years, having had loan spells with Sevilla, Fiorentina and Anderlecht since then.
He recently returned to Stamford Bridge, but despite the fact that his contract does not expire until the summer of 2017, the 26-year-old is believed to have been deemed surplus to requirements by manager Jose Mourinho.
That has alerted Sporting chief executive Robb Heineman, who has confirmed his side's desire to recruit Marin, according to the London Evening Standard.
In total, Marin has made 15 appearances for Chelsea, six of which have come in the Premier League.
