A report claims that Kurt Zouma will not be leaving Chelsea this summer in a blow to Everton's transfer plans.

Chelsea have put an end to Everton's attempt to sign centre-back Kurt Zouma, according to a report.

The Toffees were apparently keen to recruit the 24-year-old following his successful spell on loan at Goodison Park last season.

Zouma started 32 games for Everton in all competitions in 2018-19 and has seen his form rewarded with a couple of appearances for the French national side over the past fortnight.

However, with Premier League rivals Chelsea operating under a transfer ban, the Daily Star claims that the Merseyside outfit have little chance of landing the Frenchman permanently.

The Blues instead supposedly want the ex-Stoke City loanee to join Andreas Christensen in providing competition for Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz from next season.

Getafe centre-back Djene Dakonam is considered an alternative target for Everton.
