Alexandre Pato prefers Chelsea over Liverpool?

Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato reportedly indicates that he would prefer to move to Chelsea over Liverpool.

Alexandre Pato has indicated that he would prefer a move to Chelsea over Liverpool amid reports that both clubs are vying for his signature this transfer window.

The 26-year-old forward, currently playing in his homeland for Corinthians, is seeking a switch to the Premier League this month with just 11 months remaining on his deal in Brazil.

Reports over the weekend had suggested that the Reds have agreed an £11m fee for the former Milan star, although manager Jurgen Klopp subsequently denied that a deal is in the works.

According to The Independent, Chelsea have now entered the race and are Pato's preferred destination.

"I don't think the physical part of English football would be a problem," Pato is quoted as saying. "When you get the ball, you need to be ready. The defenders here are very tough but I like that. I have spoken to Willian, Firmino, Coutinho and David Luiz before."

Pato scored 10 goals in 33 league appearances during his time on loan at Sao Paolo last year.
