Kevin de Bruyne: I "lost my joy" at Chelsea

Kevin de Bruyne claims that he "lost his joy" at Chelsea after moving to Wolfsburg.

Kevin de Bruyne has revealed that he "lost his joy" playing for Chelsea under Jose Mourinho.

The Belgian, who completed his switch to Wolfsburg on Saturday, claims that he was not happy with his situation at Stamford Bridge.

De Bruyne told Het Laatste Nieuws: "I didn't leave Chelsea because I have to go to the World Cup - it could be over after three games - but just because I lost my joy.

"My situation has never changed. That's why I asked [Mourinho] in a friendly way: 'please let me go.'"

The 22-year-old played just nine senior games for Chelsea.
