Jose Mourinho aims to keep Chelsea "strong" when they play at Stamford Bridge next season.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that his team can keep a strong record in their home matches at Stamford Bridge next season.

The Portuguese coach, who has become Chelsea boss for the second time in his career, has boasted unbeaten home stints while at the Blues, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.

"The owner knows the way I think, so do the fans, and this is all about empathy," Mourinho told Chelsea magazine.

"We know that three years without a defeat at home in the league is almost impossible to achieve, but we have to have the natural tendency that, at home, we are very strong."

The Blues will begin their 2013-14 campaign at home to Hull City on August 17, before travelling to Old Trafford for a clash against Manchester United.
