Darren Fletcher: 'Cesc Fabregas was out of order'

Darren Fletcher feels that West Brom put in a great performance to beat Chelsea 3-0 at The Hawthorns and insists that Cesc Fabregas was rightly sent off.

Darren Fletcher has insisted that Cesc Fabregas was rightly sent off in West Bromwich Albion's 3-0 victory over Chelsea this evening.

The Baggies ended the Premier League champions' 16-match unbeaten run as Saido Berahino scored either side of Fabregas's red card and Chris Brunt added a third.

Fabregas was dismissed for kicking the ball at the back of Brunt's head midway through the first half. Fletcher feels that the Spaniard was "out of order", but regrets his own reaction in the aftermath of the incident.

He told Sky Sports News: "When there is a group of players and the balls hits someone on the back of the head, it is out or order. I wasn't happy about it and I made my feelings known more than I should perhaps."

Fletcher, who joined Albion from Manchester United in January, added on the 90 minutes at The Hawthorns: "It was a great performance. Even before the red card we were frustrating Chelsea. Saido scored a fantastic goal.

"I came here to play football. I am enjoying my football, the manager is fantastic and I am really enjoying being at the club.

"We expected Chelsea to play the young players but they put their full strength team out. Them losing their cool plays into our hands and helps us."

West Brom remain 13th in the Premier League table but are now within a point of Crystal Palace directly above them.
