Luuk de Jong's second-half goal is enough for Borussia Monchengladbach to defeat Greuther Furth 1-0 at home in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Monchengladbach have registered a narrow 1-0 victory over Greuther Furth at home in the Bundesliga.

The only goal of the match at the Stadion im Borussia-Park came after 74 minutes through Luuk de Jong, who turned home Oscar Wendt's pass from close range with his right foot.

Monchengladbach were helped by the dismissal of Furth defender Matthias Zimmermann for two bookable offences in the 66th minute.

The win leaves Lucien Favre's side sixth in the standings with 41 points from 28 matches, while Furth remain rock-bottom on 15 points.
