Blackburn Rovers have appointed Michael Appleton as the club's new manager.
The 37-year-old has moved to Ewood Park from fellow Championship side Blackpool following a two-month spell at Bloomfield Road.
Appleton has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with assistant Ashley Westwood.
"We are delighted to welcome both Michael and Ashley to the football club," Blackburn managing director Derek Shaw told the club's official website.
"They are both highly regarded within the game and we are confident that they have the drive and ambition to take this club forward.
"We will do everything in our powers to support them in our quest to make an instant return to the Premier League."
Rovers had been in search of a new boss after they sacked Henning Berg on December 27 with the club in 17th place in the table.
