Chris Hughton rules himself out of Wolverhampton Wanderers job

Birmingham City boss Chris Hughton says that he is focused on the Championship and is not considering the Wolverhampton Wanderers job.

Birmingham City manager Chris Hughton has declared himself out of the running for the vacant coaching role at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Premier League side are on the hunt for a new boss following the sacking of Mick McCarthy on Monday.

Former Newcastle United boss Hughton has claimed that the speculation linking him to the role is "flattering" but has dismissed the idea of leaving Birmingham.

"On the television I saw three names mentioned, so I presume that's where it's going and I just hope they pick the right person," BBC Sport quotes Hughton as saying.

"I have a very challenging job to do here and I've got a group of lads who are desperate to do well this season and I'm desperate to guide them through."

Ex-West Ham United boss Alan Curbishley is currently the favourite to nab the position.
