Preview: Barnsley vs. Reading

Sports Mole peers ahead to Tuesday night's Championship match between rock-bottom Barnsley and in-form Reading.

Two sides in contrasting Championship form meet at Oakwell on Tuesday night as rock-bottom Barnsley face in-form Reading.

David Flitcroft's Tykes have lost four on the bounce and lie at the foot of the table because of their inferior goal difference.

The Yorkshire club came close to snatching a point at high-flying Leicester City on Saturday and the performance may inject more confidence into the team ahead of the match against Nigel Adkins's Royals.

Recent loan signings Jack Butland and David Fox should make their home debuts.

Meanwhile, Adkins's reading have won three on the spin and are unbeaten in five, a run that has seen them leap into the playoff spots.

Latest acquisition Billy Sharp will be pushing for a start but will probably have to settle for a place on the bench, with Pavel Pogrebnyak and Adam Le Fondre set to lead the line.

These two sides last met back in March 2012 when Reading netted four second-half goals to brush aside the Tykes.
