Barcelona are allegedly interested in signing New York Red Bulls striker Julian Hall, viewing him as a potential long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing New York Red Bulls striker Julian Hall.

The 16-year-old scored 28 times in 39 matches for Red Bulls Academy before penning a three-year contract with the MLS outfit in September 2023, having broken into the first-team picture.

Hall became the youngest debutant in Red Bulls history when he took to the field at the age of 15 years and 190 days against Chicago Fire in September 2023, and he has since represented the senior side on 13 occasions, scoring twice and registering one assist.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona are keen admirers of the teenager, viewing him as a potential long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, who is expected to leave Camp Nou in the summer of 2026.

The report claims that there is substantial interest in Hall, and Barcelona are therefore looking to 'get ahead of the competition', with Hansi Flick's team preparing to make an offer in the region of €10m (£8m).

Barcelona would allegedly initially be looking to use Hall for their B team, while a loan to a Segunda Division outfit would also be considered in order to aid his development.

However, it is understood that Barcelona believe that he has the talent to be a leading forward for the club in the future, with the La Liga team searching for a long-term Lewandowski replacement.

Hall was born in the United States, but he is of Polish descent through his mother, and he previously spoke of his admiration for Poland international Lewandowski.

"He is someone I have looked up to now and in the past," the teenager told transfermarkt.

Hall is also thought to be attracting attention from the Premier League, and it appears that he will be heading for Europe sooner rather than later, with a number of teams recognising his immense talent.

When will Lewandowski leave Barcelona?

Now 36, Lewandowski is certainly in the latter stages of his career, but the striker is showing no signs of slowing down, scoring 30 times in 32 appearances for Barcelona during an excellent 2024-25 campaign.

The forward has a contract at Camp Nou until June 2026, with the option of a further 12 months, and it is highly likely that he will still be leading the line for the Catalan side next season.

"I feel very good at Barcelona – not only at the club, but also among the fans," 90min quoted Lewandowski as saying at the end of last month. "I feel it every day; in the stadium, in the streets. I'm really happy where I am and the club where I play. I don't think about anything else and probably nothing will happen in this matter.

"I am proud of how old I am and what age I am. I am not ashamed and I do not see a problem with being 37. From a physical point of view, I am not afraid, but will there be the will? It all depends on how things will work out."

"Today, I have a smile on my face, I play on green pitches with great pleasure and I want to win some more. As long as my heart tells me it is worth it, I will do it."

There is believed to be significant interest from the Saudi Pro League in Lewandowski, though, and he could make a lucrative move to the country before the end of his career.
