Cristiano Ronaldo 'could still face Barcelona despite coronavirus issues'

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo could yet be available to face Barcelona in the Champions League despite again testing positive for coronavirus, according to a report.

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo could reportedly yet be available to face Barcelona in the Champions League next week.

The 35-year-old is believed to have returned another positive test for coronavirus, having initially been diagnosed with the illness while on international duty with Portugal on October 13.

Ronaldo has been in isolation over the last nine days and is thought to be free of symptoms, but as it stands, he will not be available to face Catalan giants Barca in Turin on October 28.

According to Sky Italia, the attacker will take another test 24 hours before the Champions League clash and a negative result would make him available for the contest.

Ronaldo has missed Juve's last two matches - a 1-1 draw with Crotone in Serie A on October 17, in addition to a 2-0 win over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The former Sporting Lisbon youngster has been in strong form for Andrea Pirlo's side in the early stages of the 2020-21 campaign, scoring three times in two Serie A appearances.
