Reports in Spain have claimed that Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is a summer transfer target for Real Madrid.
The Dutch striker has been in impressive form this season, scoring 22 Premier League goals in an inconsistent season for the Gunners.
The 28-year-old's performance has attracted the interest of the La Liga leaders, and Spanish newspaper Marca claims that Madrid will tempt Arsenal with a bid for their captain.
Despite manager Jose Mourinho's future currently being uncertain at the Bernabeu, it is thought that the club's hierarchy will move for Van Persie even if the former Chelsea boss leaves his role.
Arsenal are looking to extend the striker's current contract, which ends in 2013.
