Arsenal have reportedly failed with a formal bid for the services of Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
The Brazil-born Italian was out of favour at the Stadio San Paolo prior to this season but has gone on to become a key player for the Serie A leaders as they mount a serious push for the title.
The 24-year-old has featured in all but two league games this season, contributing three assists, and according to TuttoMercartoWeb, Napoli are "extremely reluctant" to let him go this window.
The website claims that the Gunners, who are in the market for midfield reinforcements, will need to offer "a considerable sum" to make the deal happen this month and have a much better chance this summer.
Jorginho joined Napoli from Hellas Verona in 2014 for a reported fee of £6.5m.
