Tottenham Hotspur's Emmanuel Adebayor starts against Arsenal in today's North London derby.

Emmanuel Adebayor will start against former club Arsenal during this afternoon's North London derby at White Hart Lane.

Adebayor is joined up front by Jermain Defoe, with Spurs manager Harry Redknapp also opting to start Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric in midfield.

Injuries to a number of Arsenal defenders has meant that Alex Song will partner Per Mertesacker at the centre-back, while youngster Francis Coquelin will anchor the midfield.

Spurs: Friedel; Walker, Kaboul, King, Assou-Ekotto; Van der Vaart, Parker, Modric, Bale; Adebayor, Defoe.

Arsenal: Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Song, Gibbs; Arteta, Coquelin, Ramsey; Walcott, Van Persie, Gervinho.
