Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has expressed his belief that it was important for his side not to go into the Champions League clash with Besiktas on the back of a defeat.
The Gunners rallied from 2-0 down to claim a point against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, and the Frenchman feels that the result will provide his side with confidence heading into the showdown at the Emirates Stadium.
"It is a big confidence boost for us because you wonder if it will be a repetition of last season," Wenger told the club's official website.
"We have shown a completely different response. I'm very happy and proud of that.
"We need a good performance. We have Besiktas at home and the task is clear for us - to win the game. At home I believe we can do it if we play with the same spirit."
Wenger's side face Besiktas on Wednesday.
