Sports Mole previews Tuesday's National League clash between York City and Solihull Moors, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

York City are will be looking to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat when they face Solihull Moors in the National League on Tuesday.

The visitors are also hoping to return to winning ways after losing their last two matches to Notts County and Gateshead.

After winning promotion from the National League North last season, York's main objective this season is to avoid an immediate return to the sixth tier.

They currently reside in 17th position in the National League table, with four points separating them from the relegation zone.

David Webb's side failed to score in a second straight away game on Saturday, conceding two second-half goals to lose 2-0 against Southend United.

Although York are winless in three away matches, their home league form has not been much better, having won only one of their last eight home games in the National League.

Only four teams in the fifth tier this season have collected fewer points from home matches than York, who have picked up 16 points from their 14 league games at the LNER Community Stadium.

Solihull are four points better off than York, but like their hosts, they are also experiencing a poor run of form after losing six of their last seven league matches.

Their only victory in that seven-game period took place against Dorking Wanderers in their most recent away match, but since that win, they have suffered consecutive defeats.

After losing 2-1 to promotion-chasing Notts County, Neal Ardley's side were beaten 2-0 by Gateshead at the weekend.

As a result of those two defeats, Solihull have now lost their last five home games in all competitions, so they may be grateful for an away fixture on Tuesday.

Solihull have scored the first goal in only three of their 13 away league games this season, but they have gone on to win all three of those encounters.

Team News

York could be without the services of Nathan Thomas, who he was forced off in the first half of the defeat to Southend due to a hamstring problem, while Michael Duckworth may also miss out with a groin injury.

Shaqai Forde was only able to feature as a substitute against Southend due to a cold, but he could be fit enough to start Tuesday's game.

As for the visitors, David Davis has started the last two matches after joining on loan from Forest Green Rovers, and he is expected to retain his place in the side.

After dropping down to the bench on Saturday, Callum Maycock may be brought back into the starting lineup.

York City possible starting lineup:
Ross; Fallowfield, Kerr, Kouogun, Whittle; Pybus, Dyson; Tanner, Forde, Hurst; John-Lewis

Solihull Moors possible starting lineup:
Boot; Clarke, Howe, Coker; Donawa, Davis, T. Whelan, Maycock, Barnett; Beck, Dallas

We say: York City 1-1 Solihull Moors

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw when they met in August, and with both teams struggling to record victories, we think that there could be a repeat of that scoreline on Tuesday.
