Felix Magath desperate for Wolfsburg to get first home win

Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath admits that his team are desperate to get their first home win against Mainz 05 this weekend.

Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath has admitted that Wolfsburg need to improve their home form urgently if they are to meet expectations this season.

Magath's side have taken just one point from their opening two home matches, and he is desperate for Wolfsburg to halt that run against Mainz 05 this weekend.

The coach told reporters at a pre-match press conference: "Of course it is important for us to get our first three points at home because that would resolve a lot.

"Just look at Hoffenheim or Hamburg who had zero points a week ago and are now showing how much a win can do for your self-confidence.

"The league table does not really say too much at such an early stage of the season. I know we have a few too few points on the board, but we can still achieve our objectives."

Wolfsburg are also looking to bounce back from a disappointing 3-0 midweek defeat to Champions League contenders Schalke.
