Slaven Bilic: 'West Ham United didn't underestimate Watford'

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic says that his side did not underestimate Watford last weekend, despite the Hornets overturning a 2-0 deficit at the London Stadium.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has insisted that Dimitri Payet's rabona pass against Watford last weekend was not a sign that the Hammers were underestimating their opponents.

Payet's outrageous cross for Michail Antonio helped his side into a 2-0 goal advantage but after the game, Watford forward Troy Deeney claimed that some of West Ham's players were trying to "mug off" the Hornets.

Watford hit back to run out 4-2 winners at the London Stadium but Bilic has said that he had no problem with Payet's piece of skill.

The 48-year-old told reporters: "I don't think my players underestimate any team we have played so far. We were expecting a tough game against Watford and were right.

"It doesn't bother me if someone does a rabona pass and it ends up in a goal. It is good for the confidence and the crowd.

"The fans are the most important thing for the club and we want them to feel good and to make them happy."

West Ham travel to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
