Half-Time Report: Morgan Schneiderlin cancels out Mark Noble

Morgan Schneiderlin cancels out a strike from Mark Noble to leave Southampton level with West Ham United at 1-1 after 45 minutes of action at Upton Park.

West Ham United and Southampton are level at 1-1 following 45 minutes of Premier League football at Upton Park.

Carlton Cole had a half chance for West Ham in the early moments after meeting a deep free kick from James Tomkins, but Fraser Forster was on hand to make the save.

Southampton began to dominate possession as the first period gathered pace, but both sides struggled to create clear chances in the opening 20 minutes at Upton Park.

The home side had a golden chance after 26 minutes when Ricardo Vaz Te collected a loose clearance inside the Saints box, but Forster was across his goal to make another fine save.

The Hammers were ahead less than one minute later, however, when a Mark Noble strike deflected into the back of the net off Southampton centre-back Maya Yoshida.

The away side equalised late in the first period when Morgan Schneiderlin finished from close range.
