Watford's Ben Tozser: "Our attitude won the game for us"

Daniel Tozser says that Watford got the basics right in order to help them cruise to a 5-0 victory over Charlton Athletic yesterday afternoon.

Daniel Tozser has put Watford's thrashing of Charlton Athletic yesterday afternoon down to the attitude shown by his side.

The Hornets bounced back from their surprise defeat against Huddersfield Town last weekend by seeing off a dejected Addicks side 5-0 at Vicarage Road.

Tozser rounded off the scoring in the final minute of play with a sweetly-struck free kick to help maintain the club's playoff push.

"I think the most important thing was the attitude, how we were on the pitch," he told Watford's official website. "We were talking a lot after the Huddersfield game, if you don't give 100% in this Championship and won't suffer to win the game, you cannot win.

"That's the basic, you have to go to the pitch angry, and with our quality we will win the games. Our attitude won the game for us.

"Everyone in the Championship knows we have a fantastic squad, really good selection, individually strong players, but sometimes we forget what the basic of football is – running and tackling, fighting for every ball. We must keep going with the same mentality we did this week."

Next up for Slavisa Jokanovic's men is the visit of Blackpool in six days' time.
