Tuesday's Championship predictions including Middlesbrough vs. West Brom

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Championship fixtures, including Middlesbrough vs. West Brom.

Blackburn vs. Coventry (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Promotion-chasing Blackburn Rovers are set to host Coventry City at Ewood Park on Tuesday in a game that could affect the race for promotion in the Championship.

The hosts will be looking to bounce back from a loss last time out, while the visitors are enjoying some of their best form yet under boss Frank Lampard.

We say: Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Coventry City

Blackburn may be in poor form at the moment, but with the pressure mounting on them to get results, they will be desperate to avoid defeat at the very least.

Coventry are in better shape, but their uninspiring away form makes it hard to picture them picking up all three points on Tuesday, so expect a close-fought contest that ends with both sides sharing the spoils.

Derby vs. Sunderland (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Sunderland will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Championship when they continue their campaign with a clash against an out-of-form Derby County outfit on Tuesday night.

The Black Cats, who are fourth in the Championship table, missed two late penalties in their goalless draw with Burnley last time out, while 19th-placed Derby will enter the contest off the back of a 2-0 home defeat to Watford.

We say: Derby County 0-2 Sunderland

Sunderland will be desperate to return to winning ways on Tuesday to boost their promotion charge, and we are expecting the Black Cats to be too strong for a Derby outfit that are fighting to stay out of the relegation zone.

Hull City vs. QPR (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Relegation-threatened Hull City are set to welcome Queens Park Rangers to the MKM Stadium on Tuesday in their 22nd Championship game of the season.

The Tigers are fourth last in 21st place with 26 points but beat Millwall 1-0 on Saturday, whereas QPR are 12th with 35 points and defeated Plymouth Argyle 1-0 on January 18.

We say: Hull City 1-2 Queens Park Rangers

Hull have at least been competitive under Selles so far, and they are likely to pose a serious challenge to QPR on Tuesday.

Having said that, the visitors should be considered favourites given their strong form and the fact they already beat their hosts earlier this campaign.

Middlesbrough vs. West Brom (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

In a clash that could significantly affect the race for promotion to the Premier League from the Championship, Middlesbrough are set to host West Bromwich Albion at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday.

The home side are in seventh place with 41 points following their 2-1 defeat against Portsmouth on Saturday, while the away team drew 1-1 with Stoke City on the same date and occupy the final promotion playoff spot in sixth place with the same number of points as their opponents.

We say: Middlesbrough 2-2 West Bromwich Albion

Neither side are in strong form and it would not be surprising if both conceded multiple chances on Tuesday.

West Brom might be buoyed by the return of Mowbray and may start better than Middlesbrough, but the hosts should have enough to get back into the contest considering they have often found ways to draw matches and avoid defeat in recent weeks.

Oxford Utd vs. Luton (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Recently-appointed Luton Town boss Matt Bloomfield will hope to pick up his first win in the Championship as manager when his side travel to Kassam Stadium on Tuesday to face Oxford United.

The hosts are 15th with 32 points after 27 matchweeks and beat Blackburn Rovers 1-0 on Saturday, whereas Bloomfield's side drew 0-0 with Preston North End on January 18 and are second last in 23rd place with 26 points.

We say: Oxford United 2-1 Luton Town

Bloomfield is a highly respected manager, but he is going to need time to implement his style of play, and it is difficult to see how he can do so with so many defensive injuries.

Additionally, Oxford's record at home in recent weeks is strong, and considering the visitors have struggled to find the back of the net, the hosts should be confident of victory.

Swansea vs. Sheff Utd (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

Sheffield United will be bidding to make it three straight wins in the Championship when they continue their campaign with a contest against Swansea City in Wales on Tuesday night.

The Blades are currently second in the Championship table, boasting 55 points from their opening 27 matches of the campaign, while Swansea are 13th, seven points off the playoff spots in England's second tier.

We say: Swansea City 0-2 Sheffield United

Swansea will be determined to give their fans something to cheer after the defeat to Cardiff, but it is tough to imagine the hosts bouncing back here. Sheffield United have 25 points to show from their 14 away matches in the Championship this season, and we are expecting them to navigate their way to a win in this contest.

Watford vs. Preston (Tuesday, 7.45pm)

In the hunt for a playoff spot, Watford are set to host Preston North End at Vicarage Road as part of Tuesday's Championship action.

The Hornets were beaten 3-0 by the Lilywhites in the reverse fixture back in October, but they will need to pick up points this week if they are to keep up with their rivals.

We say: Watford 2-1 Preston North End

While Preston have proven hard to beat throughout the season, Watford will be feeling the increased pressure in the race for promotion, and will be desperate to take all three points on Tuesday.

Additionally, given the Lilywhites' offensive limitations, the Hornets are likely to secure the victory if they can find more than one goal.

Millwall vs. Cardiff (Tuesday, 8.00pm)

As both sides look to distance themselves from the Championship's relegation zone, Millwall are set to host Cardiff City at the Den on Tuesday.

The Lions will be looking for their first league win for almost a month in midweek, while the Bluebirds will be hoping to build on their emphatic win in the South Wales derby last time out.

We say: Millwall 1-2 Cardiff City

Millwall have struggled offensively this season, while Cardiff have had issues at the back, so expect a close-fought affair regardless of the result.

That being said, the hosts' lack of attacking output means that they are unlikely to score more than once, so if the visitors find their shooting boots then the game could slip away from the Lions.
