Half-Time Report: Dries Mertens gives Napoli lead

Napoli lead 1-0 after 45 minutes of their Serie A clash with Hellas Verona this afternoon.

A goal from Dries Mertens has given Napoli the lead in their Serie A meeting against Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.

Gonzalo Higuain had a good chance to score for the away side midway through the half, but saw his strike saved by Rafael.

The visitors took the lead in the 27th minute when Mertens picked up the ball on the left hand side of the penalty area, before cutting in and curling a low shot into the bottom corner.

Higuain wasted the opportunity to double their lead soon after as he fired wide after receiving the ball in space on the edge of the area.
