Kenny Miller leaves Vancouver Whitecaps

Former Scotland striker Kenny Miller leaves Vancouver Whitecaps by mutual consent.

Vancouver Whitecaps have announced that Kenny Miller's contract with the Major League Soccer side has been terminated by mutual consent.

The former Scotland and Rangers striker joined the Canadian team in 2012, scoring 13 goals in 45 appearances.

In a statement on the club's official website, head coach Carl Robinson said: "We are thankful for the contributions Kenny made both on and off the pitch during his time in Vancouver.

"He has been a great role model, a constant professional, and someone who I consider a very good friend. We wish him and his family all the best."

Earlier this year, Miller revealed that he would be open to a return to Rangers.
