Team News: Lee Cattermole starts for Sunderland

Lee Cattermole welcome back into Sunderland's starting lineup to face Peterborough United.

Former captain Lee Cattermole is back in the starting lineup for Sunderland as the club begin life after Paulo Di Canio against Peterborough United in the League Cup.

The midfielder is included along with Jozy Altidore, who leads the attack in Kevin Ball's first game since he was appointed interim head coach of the Black Cats.

Steven Fletcher is absent after suffering a suspected dislocated shoulder in the 3-0 defeat at West Brom on Saturday.

Lee Tomlin, who was subject of interest from Scottish champions Celtic during the recent transfer window, starts up front for Peterborough.

Posh are without Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Mark Little who each begin three-game bans for red cards on Saturday against Milton Keynes Dons.
