Mauricio Pochettino hails "fantastic" Tottenham Hotspur display at Leicester

Mauricio Pochettino describes Tottenham Hotspur's performance as "fantastic" after they beat Leicester City 2-0 to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his delight after watching his side beat Leicester City in tonight's FA Cup third-round replay at the King Power Stadium.

After a 2-2 draw in the initial tie, Spurs got the better of Leicester at the fourth time of asking this season thanks to goals either side of half time from Son Heung-Min and Nacer Chadli.

Speaking to BBC Sport after the match, Pochettino said: "Yes I'm very pleased, the performance was fantastic. We played well from the beginning to the end. I think we deserved this victory.

"It was a special goal from [Son] and I'm happy for him. Nacer Chadli too because it's always important for our offensive players to score."

Pochettino was pleased to see several fringe players like Son and Chadli impress and described his squad as "motivated".

"We are in a very difficult period of the season and we need all the players motivated and working hard with the expectation that they might play consistently in the Premier League too," Pochettino added.

Spurs will travel to League One side Colchester United in the fourth round on Saturday, January 30.
