Juventus confirm Alvaro Morata has returned to Real Madrid

Juventus confirm that Alvaro Morata has left the club to return to Real Madrid after the Spanish giants activated a buy-back clause.

Juventus have confirmed that Alvaro Morata has left the club to return to Real Madrid.

The Spain international moved to Turin from the Bernabeu in 2014, but the La Liga giants have opted to exercise a buy-back clause costing £23.6m.

An official statement from Juve read: "Juventus Football Club can today confirm that Alvaro Morata will return to Real Madrid after two seasons in Turin following the Spanish outfit's decision to activate the forward's buy-back clause.

"All associated with Juventus Football Club would like to wish Alvaro the very best of luck wherever his future may take him and thank him for two truly excellent years of service to the team."

It has been widely reported that Real intend to sell Morata this summer, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all thought to be interested in the 23-year-old forward.

It is believed that Real could hold out for a bid in the region of £57m for the player, who won two Serie A titles during his time with Juve.
