Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas insists that there is no reason to be worried about Cristiano Ronaldo's lack of league goals this season.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo "is fine", despite the Portuguese failing to find the back of the net in La Liga this season.

Ronaldo has scored five times in two Champions League matches this term, but is yet to register in three league appearances - posting another blank in Real Madrid's 2-0 win over Espanyol on Sunday night.

Navas, however, has insisted that there is no reason to be concerned about Ronaldo's form, with the 32-year-old bringing much more than goals to the Spanish and European champions.

"Ronaldo is fine, he played very well," Navas told El Transistor. "He assisted Isco [for the first goal] and consistently passed to players in better positions, he also did strong defensive work so there is no need to analyse him more.

"The contributions he made during the game should be valued as goals and I said before, he is a very important player for us. People try to find problems when he doesn't score but he has scored in important games and brings so much more."

Real Madrid currently sit in fifth position in La Liga - seven points off leaders Barcelona.
